An Original Apostle’s Notebook is Discovered
He participated briefly in a splinter group before Joseph Smith’s murder and organized his own group after. A number of his personal writings have been discovered - his early diaries and several notebooks. This notebook presents his views and reminiscences on a number of topics and his enduring conviction that Joseph Smith had been a prophet and that the Book of Mormon is of Divine origin.
Ashworth and I discussed the notebook in some detail and he read a number of selections from it.
We also discussed some of Ashworth’s other purchases including some of the forged documents of the infamous Mark Hoffman.
Several participated questions by phone and email.
